Tripping on a Trip Part 5

Wednesday

Had it really been only 4 hours? I went down to breakfast and was tempted to have some coffee in the vain attempt to wake myself up, but I abstained and remained caffeine free. The same geeky JETS were around, donft they ever go out? Once again I met Kim and Linda and we skipped out. We went to the Himeji castle; itfs the most famous in Japan. Its one of the only original ones left, all the others have been rebuilt in some way. It was pretty cool. But as you can tell by my brief mention, it didnft really float my boat so to speak.

Next we went to Kyoto. When we went through the train station gates our child tickets let out a whistle, I guess that was letting the guards know that there was a echildf going though, we played the dumb gaijin act and just kept walking, that same act has served me well for 26 years. We went to the Golden Temple next, that was pretty cool, but when you are supposed to follow some tin ass track that goes for ever and you are on a time limit, you suddenly lose your patience, so we went the wrong way down the one lane track to get back to our starting point.

After saying goodbye to Kim and Linda, I headed for Osaka airport, I managed to catch my plane with 10min to spare, and needless to say I was flying like a blue ass fly.

When I returned to my sleepy assed village I was given a report sheet to fill out on what I did at the conference for my Board of Education, I consider that a communist thing, so I only wrote a few things that I had heard from various people. If they really want to find out what I did, then they can do a search of the Internet and find this email.

So all in all, a great trip paid for by someone I donft know and donft care to know.

Peace out
