Tripping on a Trip Part 3MondayToday the conference was starting at 3pm, which meant we could go back into the city and try and track down an ATM which would use our Higo Bank cards, we had found out the night before that they could only be used on the island we live on, major scare for us. We eventually found one, so we didnft feel too much like hicks anymore. Money in hand we went to check out China Town! China Town was a major farken disappointment, it was so small and it was full of Japanese! I guess they figure that they all look alike, so no one will know the difference. But they canft trick me! After having lunch consisting of western style burgers and more window shopping we all headed back to the hotel for the start of the conference, the boys went through the eIn doorf and I went through the eOut doorf, there was no way I was going to waste my time listening to a couple of fags spouting bullshit that isnft even relevant to my cause. So I had a nice bath and then tried to catch up on my sleep. After the speeches Adam came back to the room and we all headed into the city again, I amazingly ran into my roommate from Tokyo, when we first came over to Jap land! So Nathan and me hung out and had dinner, it was refreshing to catch up with a fellow kiwi. When we caught the train back, I noticed that the machine you put your money in to get your ticket from had either Adult or Child. My brain started to hatch a plan, I figured I could travel everywhere for half price and if I got caught I could either plead ignorance or vomit on my accuser, both seemed like a good plan. So I started to see Japan for half price, you can take the Maori out of New Zealand, but not the New Zealand out of the Maori. I found my New Zealand friend Kimfs number from the hotel directory and gave her a ring, we arranged to meet in the morning for breakfast and then skip out on the JET gig. |
